  • Heat lard or oil in a large cast iron pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook 5 minutes.
  • Push onion to the side of skillet, making a circle in the center. Add ground beef and let sear for 3 minutes, then flip and sear another 3 minutes.
  • Break up beef with a wooden spoon and mix beef and onions together. Continue cooking until beef is cooked through about 5 minutes.
  • Add carrots, olives, oregano, garlic, turmeric, and salt. Drizzle in aminos/tamari and stir. Continue cooking 5 minutes to let flavors combine. Finish with lime juice.
  • Serve in lettuce leaves and top with toppings of choice like guacamole, salsa, or cheese depending on your diet.
