Combine cumin, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle over chicken.
Place chicken in slow cooker. Stir in onions, tomatoes, chiles, jalapenos, and garlic. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 hours. Stir in beans. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour.
Place chicken thighs in soup bowls; ladle stew into each bowl. Top each serving with cilantro. Optional topping as well is sour cream.
