Rinse the short ribs to remove any bone fragments. Place short ribs in a large bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk to combine green onions, garlic, honey, water, coconut aminos or tamari, and sesame oil. Pour the marinade over the short ribs.
Marinate short ribs at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Either preheat grill to high with lid closed or preheat broiler to high. If using the oven, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
When ready to cook, remove short ribs from bowl and discard marinade.
To grill short ribs, place over direct heat and reduce temperature to medium. Turn short ribs every 3 to 5 minutes until desired doneness is achieved, approximately 30 minutes.
To broil short ribs, place short ribs on baking sheet in a single layer. Place in the oven and broil until desired doneness is achieved, approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Remove short ribs from grill or oven and serve with your favorite side dish.
